Here at Nirvana Nail Bar we use a variety of different products for different purposes. If you’re wondering about the benefits and reasons why we use a particular product you can find the answers below.

Our lotions:

In our basic manicure and pedicure services we use a jojoba oil based lotion that is entirely scent-free. It contains minimal ingredients and the ingredients it does contain are all vegan, so you don’t have to worry about any harsh chemicals. That being said, we fragrance our lotions ourselves in the spa using pure essential oils so we, and more importantly you, know exactly what you’re getting in our lotions. It helps us be aware of allergies to fragrances so our clients can feel comfortable choosing a scent that they enjoy.

In our SpaRitual manicure service we use SpaRitual’s hand salve lotion. Which is also vegan and cruelty-free. The difference between this lotion and our jojoba oil lotion is its higher quality. It has a thicker consistency and this product is guaranteed to be “big 5 free” which means it is free of Parabens, Petrochemicals, Synthetic fragrance and Dyes, GMOs and Gluten.

In all of our pedicures we use and promote Footlogix products, from their foot creams to their callus softeners. Why? Footlogix is a pharmaceutical grade product that has actual results. With Footlogix our estheticians are able to find a foot cream that suits your specific needs. Whether it’s cracked heels, dehydrated skin, toenail fungus or anything in between, there’s an easy to use at-home product we can give you so your foot care goes beyond your pedicure service.

Callus Softener:

Footlogix callus softener is loved by all of our estheticians because unlike most callus softeners it doesn’t use any acids to help lift the dead skin. Instead it uses highly moisturizing ingredients that go deep into the skin that then helps to loosen up that stubborn dry skin making it effortless for us to buff it off.

Polishes:

Artistic is our personal favorite gel polish brand that we use. It has bold and long lasting colours that don’t fade or tint as you wear them. The artistic top coat doesn’t lose its shine so your nails keep looking fresh. The base coat, although it keeps your polish anchored to you nails for a few weeks, removes easily when it’s time for it to come off. So you can keep your natural nails healthy without the worry of your gel polish thinning out your nail plates.

We also carry the IBD brand of gel polish. We still use the Artistic top and base coat when you choose IBD gel polish, there are just so many beautiful colours by IBD that we can’t live without!

For our regular polishes we use OPI and we love it because it lasts so long, especially on the toes! OPI has been around for a long time and they are constantly releasing new colours and we keep getting them! With our wide range of colours it’s not a matter of finding one you like, it’s finding which one you like the most!

Scrubs:

In our spa pedicure we use a scrub to nicely exfoliate your legs and feet. The scrub we use is plain and simply epsom salts infused with essential oil fragrances.

With our spa manicure we use the SpaRitual Body Polish. The body polish is a sugar scrub, so its more gentle on the hands. Our feet can handle the deep scrub but your hands need a little more delicate treatment. We love the body polish because just like all of SpaRituals other products it’s vegan, cruelty-free and ‘big five’ free.

Artificial Nail Product:

For our nail extension we use Artistic brand of Poly Gel. What’s poly gel? It’s an acrylic and gel hybrid. It applies much like an acrylic nail but it dries like a gel nail. Using poly gel you get the strength of an acrylic nail without the harsh smell or chemical exposure. However since its a gel hybrid nail, you get a small amount of flexibility in the artificial nail.

Why is flex good?

Well, for anyone who has had acrylic nails before you know that feeling when you catch a nail. They break, and they hurt. However, if the nail has some flexibility then it’s more likely to bend slightly, but avoid that break that you might’ve had with an acrylic nail.
